In 2001 I applied for a position at Random Lake School for a special education aide in the elementary school. I was hired that week. I am honored and proud to say that I have worked in special education ever since. If you count in years it has been 16 years.
As a teachers aide I have worked in special education helping children ages kindergarten thru high school with disabilities. Disabilities that required my skills in venting, tube feeding, seizure care, bathroom care and hygiene, and proper lifting. I am confident in my ability to keep classmates and staff safe and maintain a healthy learning school environment for students and teachers.
From 2007 until the Fall of 2016 I also had the job as Random Lake High School and Middle School girls volleyball coach. I enjoyed the challenges of teaching skills such as teamwork, dedication, hard work, self confidence and passion. Coaching and sports is a big part of my life and for the last 10 years it was another way for me to teach. So I guess if you really want to look at my history, for the last 10 years I have been teaching at Random Lake School.
Which leads to this opportunity as a Special Education Teacher. I have applied and accepted a position at Random Lake School as a Special Education Teacher in the Middle School. I have been accepted to the 10SPED Program in Partnership with St. Mary's University of Minnesota. The 10SPED program meets DPI special education teacher certification requirements and allows me to apply for a Masters in Education if I choose. As I continue my education I can continue to do great things here at Random Lake School. I have listed my numerous skills and accomplishments on the job, but my compassion and dedication for all kids to succeed everyday is in my heart, and this is person that you will get everyday as a Special Education Teacher here at Random Lake Middle School.
